What is SEO?
SEO is the abbreviated version of “search engine optimisation”. In other words, it is the process of improving your website to increase visibility for relevant queries on search engines such as Google or Bing. The more visible your pages are in search results, the more customers you are going to attract to your business, products, or services.
How does SEO work?
Search engines begin by using bots to analyse pages on the web. They go from website to website, collecting data about those pages and putting them in an index. Complex algorithms then analyse those pages, looking at hundreds of ranking factors to determine where those pages should appear in the search results.
Why is SEO important?
People conduct trillions of searches every year, often with commercial intent to find information about services, businesses, or products. Search is often the primary source of digital traffic for companies and proves to be very cost-effective. It provides greater visibility and more trust with potential customers.
What is local SEO?
Local SEO is search engine optimisation that aims to get businesses or services found in local areas on search engines such as Google and Bing. Location-based searches are hugely important to the success of a local business such as a restaurant, plumber, or accountant. Improving your local search rankings will dramatically boost your brand awareness and bottom line.
Who should have local SEO?
If you have a business that provides a service or wishes to sell products within certain areas, then local SEO is the perfect solution. 93% of online experiences begin with a search engine, so it is important to optimise your website to help these potential customers to find you. Local SEO is perfect for plumbers, electricians, decorators, restaurants, car garages and any other business that has a target audience within a certain area.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do I need to have SEO?
The short answer is yes, yes you do. Imagine if you put the visitors of an average website into a pie chart. When you look at this pie chart, over 50% will be visitors from search engines like Google, Bing, or Yahoo. Search engines are essentially a discovery tool and if you want your business, product, or services to be discovered, then you need to implement it correctly.
What are black hat techniques, and do they work?
Black hat techniques are ways in which you can trick a search engine in to thinking you have done everything they want in order to achieve better results. They might work for a little while but sleep with one eye open, because they will eventually catch up with you. If a search engine believes you have bought backlinks or have copied content from somewhere else, it won’t be long before you take a trip down the rankings.
Can I do SEO myself?
Yes, absolutely. SEO takes understanding, patience, and a willingness to learn a new skill. That being said, there is a lot of it to learn and sometimes business owners simply don’t have the time, so they pick up the phone to us. If you want to learn more about SEO then take a look at our blog where you will find some detailed guides on how you can make your own website rank on page one of Google. Alternatively, take a few moments to fill out our enquiry form and a member of our team will be in touch with some options.
How do we get started?
Once you enquire through our website you will be contacted by our CEO, Oliver. He will ask a few questions about your business, your current digital model, and your goals. Once a plan is agreed we will raise an invoice for the first monthly payment and when this has been paid, we will get to work. You will then be invoiced on the same day for the following two months.
What happens after the first 3 months?
The first 3 months will be where we complete a large portion of the work. We will write content, build backlinks, fix technical aspects, and submit your website to all major search engines. If you are happy with the service, the standard or our work and your new rankings, we will discuss with you an ongoing monthly retainer that we will ensure you maintain the positions that you want. We don’t have any fixed contracts but do require 30 days’ notice in writing when or if you decide that you no longer require our services.
What position will I be after 3 months?
There are no guaranteed results when it comes to SEO, and if someone tells you otherwise, they are lying to you. What we can guarantee is that our combination of experience and desire to deliver results will provide your website with a winning formula that will enable you to grow your business online, organically. After the 3 months you will be in a far better position that what you are now and based on our previous work, you should start appearing in front of our target audience.
Which is better, SEO or PPC?
There are pros and cons to everything, but this dilemma seems to be an easy one. Whilst PPC (Pay Per Click) can deliver fast results, it costs money. SEO takes a long time in comparison, but the rewards are far greater as once you make the initial investment, the results will continue to roll in. In fact, once you begin to take those top spots, you can dramatically reduce your paid search budget.
Is SEO dead?
Whoever tells you that SEO is dead, can’t do SEO. Search engine optimisation evolves every year and continues to do so. The only way that SEO would be dead is if the internet becomes obsolete, which doesn’t look like its going to happen any time soon.
My business website is now ranking on the first page of Google and I cannot thank Oliver enough for his work thus far. I would recommend any business owner to discuss with Oliver their future SEO objectives, as he is the best.
